WHEN SHOULD I CONSIDER AN UPGRADED INSTRUMENT?

Our Upgraded Rental Program offers three additional levels beyond the standard-level that most renters start with: intermediate, advanced and master level. With each level the performance and value of the instrument increases. This provides an advancing student with higher quality equipment if they are not yet ready to purchase an instrument of their own.

The player will be in the best position to choose from these upgrade options once they have been introduced to shifting and are beginning to out-perform their current equipment. At this level, the player will be able to discern the unique qualities of each instrument, their sounds and tones and ranges. A teacher can also provide insight into your player’s readiness for better equipment and can provide guidance in selecting the equipment itself.

We recommend setting up an appointment at our Shop if you are interested in upgrading your rental equipment. You will have time in our studio to try out different bows and instruments from the levels you choose.

Just like with a standard-level rental, your rental payments will build up as equity. This rental equity can apply toward the purchase of ANY instrument, bow and case that we carry. You are not limited to purchasing your rental equipment; we have many hand-made pieces that we do not ever rent, but are available only for sale. Your child’s instrument size, level of interest and future music plans should all be carefully weighed along with the financial considerations.
